Top Ten Tuesday | Ten Characters Who Are Fellow Book Nerds

Top Ten TuesdayTop Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week is a new top ten topic. This week it’s Ten Characters Who Are Fellow Book Nerds, including characters who love to read, are writers, work at bookstores, etc.

1. Matilda Wormwood from Matilda by Roald Dahl

I think Matilda really helped influence me as a young reader, because I believed that if I read as many books as Matilda then I, too, would develop telekinesis. That proved to be not true, but Matilda is still a favorite of mine.

2. Sloane Tavish from The Naturals series by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

Sloane is like the Spencer Reid of this book series. She’s really good with numbers and books and memorizing things.

3. Paige Hancock from The Start of Me and You by Emery Lord

Paige aspires to be a screenwriter and that’s a pretty big plot point throughout most of the novel. She’s also pretty familiar with Jane Austen novels.

4. Maddy from Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon

This book isn’t out yet but I was lucky enough to get an ARC copy. The main character Maddy is a huge book nerd and reads about 4 novels throughout the course of the book.

5. Peter from Tonight the Streets Are Ours by Leila Sales

This book isn’t out yet either, but I’m currently reading an ARC copy. Peter is a blogger who aspires to be a writer and works in a bookstore.

6. Liesel Meminger from The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

I love this book with every fiber of my being so naturally I had to include Liesel. After all, she is the book thief 😉

7. Alaska Young from Looking for Alaska by John Green

When Pudge goes into Alaska’s room he sees piles upon piles of books.

8. Tessa Grey from The Infernal Devices series by Cassandra Clare

Tessa reads all the time and she’s constantly referencing characters in books that’s she’s read.

9. Echo from The Girl at Midnight by Melissa Grey

Echo lives in a library so I think it’s pretty safe to say she loves books.

10. Hermione Granger from the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling

It wouldn’t be a complete list of bookish people without Hermione. She lives for books, school, and studying.
