Hey everyone! I hope that you’ve been enjoying Blogmas; I’ve been having a fun time writing them and reading your posts. Today I thought it would be fun to talk about holiday traditions.
When it comes to decorating the tree my family either watched A Christmas Story (my mom’s favorite holiday movie) or listened to Christmas movie while decorating. When I was in high school my family moved across the street and during the move we lost all of our Christmas decorations, so my mom decided from then on that our tree would be filled with nothing but homemade decorations.
So, my family is religious which means that we don’t eat meat on Christmas Eve. I’m not 100% sure why (sorry, Mom xD) but Christmas Eve my family usually has cheese ravioli for dinner and then on Christmas Day we have ham.
When my Grandmother was still alive my family would go to her house for Christmas Eve, and then on Christmas Day, we would go to my Dad’s side of the family.
When it comes to presents, Christmas Eve was when we all open presents from family. That’s when we get our presents from our siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, and one small present from our parents. Christmas morning is for presents “from Santa” and big presents from our parents. By “big presents,” I mean those are usually our more expensive presents. One year my older sister’s big present was a new stereo, and one time my big present was a Nintendo DS.
That’s all I have for today’s Blogmas! Tell me about your holiday traditions!
